The U.S. Port of Duluth-Superior is on the western edge of Lake Superior.

Facts:

Duluth is 2,300 miles (3,700 km) inland from the Atlantic Ocean. It is accessible via the St. Lawrence River and Great Lakes Waterway. The Port of Duluth is the farthest inland port accessible to oceangoing vessels in the world. It is the busiest port on the Great Lakes.
Typical materials shipped out of Duluth are iron-ore, coal, grain, limestone, cement, salt, wood pulp, and steel coil.
